Quilt Rescue, Recovery, and Completion

I am able to take damaged quilts and repair them in a careful process which involves removing the damaged area, then recreating its contents with matching or nearly matching fabrics. If the section was hand-sewn, I hand-sew the repair to the extent I am able. I also replace the batting and the backing of the damaged area.

One client asked me to repair and finish an unfinished quilt.

First I had to finish some rough edges

Once the edges were repaired, I constructed a matching border, then added batting and backing. I quilted and finished the project with matching binding

Much of the work involved in such a quilt consists of finding complementary f.abrics. Luckily, many fabric manuafacturers produce high-quality vintage fabrics which coordinated well with heirloom quilts
